The Schlosssteg is a pedestrian and cycle bridge that crosses the Ybbs in the area of the old town of Waidhofen. The supporting structure creates a direct connection between Waidhofen Castle on the side of the Old Town and the Schlosshotel. FORM AND APPEARANCE The new bridge reacts formally to the surrounding buildings, represents the modern and "reflects" the historical. The reflective, slightly crystalline surface takes up the facets of the surroundings and thus forms a visual missing-link. It changes its appearance depending on the point of view, time of day and lighting situation. In the evening and night hours, the bridge is reduced to a grid-shaped light object and thus dematerialises itself. SURFACE, MATERIAL and COLOUR CONCEPTS Primary support structure: Galvanised steel Secondary structure: (substructure for Alucobond) galvanised steel Running board: wood (BSH) Pavement: Gussasphalt slip-resistant Surface material: (outside) Alucobond 6mm - mounted on the secondary structure. LIGHTING CONCEPT Outdoor lighting: LED strips Interior lighting: (sidewalk lighting) LED strips
